Fillers in Munich-Bogenhausen: targeted treatment for volume and contour
Hyaluronic acid fillers can replace volume, define contours and change proportions. What matters is the appropriate area, material properties and placement, rather than using as many millilitres as possible.

What are hyaluronic acid fillers?
Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of human tissue. In aesthetics, specially processed and cross-linked hyaluronic acid gels are used to support selected structures. Depending on its material properties, a filler may be used for a softer effect, shaping or stronger support.
Treatment is not planned on the basis of a product name or amount alone. The area, tissue thickness, movement, desired change and existing proportions determine which material may be appropriate and at which tissue level.
Not every wrinkle needs filler
Visible lines can develop through different processes. Facial movement, volume loss, declining skin quality, tissue descent and anatomical shadows may look similar, but do not require the same treatment.
An injection is therefore not automatically placed directly beneath a visible wrinkle. Sometimes another area is the more appropriate treatment site. If the main change is at the skin surface, it is worth looking at Skin boosters or Microneedling. The limitations of these procedures are also discussed during the consultation.
Which areas can be treated with fillers?
Lips
Lip treatment may address volume, contour, symmetry or the relationship between the upper and lower lip. The goal and shape are planned to suit the face, rather than a single ideal lip shape.
Chin
Targeted chin treatment can affect the relationship between the middle and lower face. Profile, projection, length and the connection to the jawline all need to be considered.
Jawline and lower face
Fillers can support contours in selected cases. However, additional volume may be unsuitable where there is significant tissue laxity or a different underlying cause.
Cheeks and midface
Volume loss in the midface can change the overall appearance of the face. Treatment is planned with transitions, projection and adjacent areas in mind.
Selected wrinkles and contour deficiencies
Whether direct wrinkle treatment makes sense depends on the cause, depth, skin quality and movement.
Why product quality and material properties matter
Depending on the product and area, a filler remains in the tissue for an extended period. Traceable origin, quality, scientific data, suitable material properties and predictable behaviour are therefore important selection criteria.
A product suitable for the mobile lip area is not automatically the right choice for a treatment requiring more support. Selection depends on the area, tissue, mobility and treatment goal.
Less material can be more
Millilitre figures alone say little about the quality of a treatment. A smaller volume in an anatomically appropriate place can improve proportion more clearly than a larger amount without clear planning.
It may also make sense to divide treatment across several appointments. Standardised volume recommendations are therefore not reliable.
What does filler treatment generally involve?
Steps
- Discuss concerns, expectations and previous treatments.
- Record relevant medical conditions, medication, allergies and contraindications.
- Assess the face at rest, during movement and, where appropriate, in profile.
- Explain the area, product, amount, possible alternatives and risks.
- Carry out treatment only after the information and risks have been discussed and consent obtained.
- Discuss aftercare and how to make contact if anything unusual occurs.
- Plan aftercare and any follow-up appointment individually.
Results, duration and limitations
Some of the result is often visible immediately. However, swelling can significantly alter the appearance during the first few days. A final assessment therefore only makes sense once the initial reaction has subsided.
Duration depends on factors including the product used, the treated area, movement and individual circumstances. A fixed period cannot therefore be given for every treatment.
Fillers cannot remove significant excess skin or correct every form of tissue descent. In such cases, other non-surgical procedures or a consultation with a medical specialist may be more appropriate.
Possible reactions and risks
Possible effects include swelling, redness, tenderness, bruising, asymmetry, nodules, inflammatory reactions or infections. Vascular complications can occur in rare cases. Thorough anatomical knowledge, informed consent and structured complication management are therefore essential.
The personal informed-consent discussion covers individual risks, warning signs and appropriate care after treatment.
Frequently asked questions
The result depends on the starting point, goal, material, amount and placement. A natural appearance does not automatically follow from using little material; it comes from treatment that suits the anatomy and the desired expression.
Suitable hyaluronic acid fillers can be reduced or dissolved with hyaluronidase in certain situations. Whether the existing material is suitable and what risks a correction involves must be assessed beforehand. The possibility of dissolving filler does not make filler treatment risk-free.
No. Fillers are mainly used for shaping, support or volume correction. Skin boosters focus on skin hydration and condition.
Relevant medical conditions, medication, allergies, previous treatments, acute infections, pregnancy or breastfeeding and any other possible contraindications should be mentioned when you first get in touch.
