Morpheus8 or microneedling: differences in depth, energy and goals

In microneedling, fine needles enter the skin. Radiofrequency microneedling also delivers electrical energy into the tissue, generating heat. This distinction is explained in the FDA information on microneedling and the FDA safety information on radiofrequency microneedling.
Adding energy does not automatically make a procedure more suitable for your concern. Depth, device, area and treatment goal must be considered together.
Three terms to clarify
Cosmetic microneedling
The page on cosmetic microneedling describes the approach used in facial treatments. Ask about the actual application being proposed.
Medical Microneedling
The page on Medical Microneedling explains the more intensive procedure. The word "medical" does not replace information about the device, how treatment is carried out and the practitioner's qualifications.
Morpheus8
The Morpheus8 page covers radiofrequency microneedling. Here too, the specific application must be clarified; a brand name does not provide a blanket recommendation for a particular area.
Additional energy brings additional questions
Microneedling can cause redness, bleeding, pigmentation changes and infections, among other effects. The FDA patient information describes these risks.
Serious complications, including burns, scarring, fat loss and nerve damage, have also been reported with certain uses of radiofrequency microneedling. These are discussed in the FDA safety communication which does not assess any specific treatment at this practice.
A fixed downtime is therefore not a reliable basis for your planning. Clarify possible reactions and aftercare before an appointment.
The question is not "How deep?", but "What for?"
Wanting less visible pores calls for a different discussion from concerns about indented scars or contouring. Start by describing your observation. The page skin texture, pores and acne scars helps explain the distinction.
A higher-intensity treatment is not proof of quality. Any additional active ingredient product offered must also be assessed individually for its intended use.
